Uploading System Files

The file manager available in Decipher Gives advanced users the ability to upload files needed for project creation in bulk. This includes image files you may want to use Within the XML, HTML or PDF files for including the add-ons, CSS files for updating the look and feel of the survey, or perhaps This could be complex share files for adding even more power to Your project The file manager opens up many new possibilities in project design and setup.

Important: Usage fees apply for video files . Please contact your Account Manager for pricing specifics.

1: Accessing the File Manager

To add files using the file manager, locate your project in the research hub and click on the menu icon  next to the project name to access the project controls. Then select "Upload System Files" under "Actions".

The file manager is Also available in the survey building application. Open the "Actions" menu and select "Upload System Files".

Tip: Click on any of the headers to sort the files by the field .

1. Add Files : Allows you to select a file from your computer to upload to the file manager. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file into the space below this button.
2. Kind : Reflects the file type
3. Name : Contains the name of the file
4. Access The location where the file can be accessed
5. Size The size of the file
6. Date The date the file was last modified

2.1: Types of Files Allowed

The Following types of files can be uploaded successfully in the file manager:

Size Limit:

  • Video Files: up to 2GB
  • Other Files: up to 50MB

Static Directory: 

  • Media Files:
    • jpeg/jpg
    • png
    • gif
    • mp3
    • csv
    • swf
  • Documents:
    • doc*
    • docx*
    • pdf
  • Design Files:
    • js
    • css
    • html
    • htm
    • less
    • json

Survey Directory: 

  • Media Files
    • jpg/jpeg*
    • png*
    • gif*
    • mp3*
  • Documents:
    • doc/docx*
    • xls/xlsx
    • dat
    • txt*
    • ppt/pptx*
  • Design Files:
    • js
    • htm/html
    • css
    • xml
    • json

* Files with * must be sent to your Account Manager for upload

2.2: Upload Supporting Files

In the file manager, click on the "Add Files" button to select the file, or simply drag and drop the file into the space below the button. Multiple files can be added at once.

Once the file has Been selected it will Appear in the file manager. Select the desired location of the file ("Publicly Available (static)" or "System Only (Root)"), then click "Upload".

Once a file has Been uploaded it can not be removed or deleted at this time. Click "Remove" to remove the file before it's uploaded.

Once the file has Been uploaded you can click the link to open the file, or click on the Access icon to copy the file location.

3: Video Files

1. Add Files :  Allows you to select a file from your computer to upload to the file manager. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file into the space below this button.
2.  Name :  Contains the name of the file.
3. Video ID :  Thereference ID required by the media player.
4. Location :  Theselected location of the file.
5. Uploaded By :  Thename of user who uploaded the file.
6. Uploaded On :  Thedate the file was uploaded.
7. Play Count :   Counts updated daily (ie, not in realtime)
8. Status :   Status of the video. An email will be sent once the videohasbeen processed and is ready to use.

3.1: Types of Files Allowed

The Following video formats are permitted:

  • Mp4 (mobile compatible)
  • Mov (mobile compatible)
  • Flv

Size Limit:

  • Video Files: up to 2GB

3.2: Upload Video Files

In the file manager, click on the "Add Files" button to select the file, or simply drag and drop the file into the space below the button. Multiple files can be added at once.

Once the file has Been selected it will Appear in the file manager. Select the desired location of the file ("Current Project Folder" or "Company Folder"), then click "Upload".

Once a file has Been uploaded it can not be removed or deleted at this time. Click "Remove" to remove the file before it's uploaded.

Once the file has Been uploaded the status will ready "Pending" and an email will be sent once the video is ready for use.
